Manure Based Exotic Species Substrate Bags (10lb)
Soon to be Released:
Specialized Substrate – Optimized for Dung-Loving & Pan Species
This substrate has been carefully developed and refined through years of hands-on experimentation and data collection to boost bio-efficiency across multiple flushes, especially when used with Panaeolus and other dung-loving active species.
While many Psilocybe varieties are saprophytic and prefer wood-based substrates, we also offer a remediated formula tailored specifically for wood-loving species. Wood loving active exotic species substrate can be found at the following link:
Ingredients:
Canna brand coco coir, vermiculite, worm castings, compressed/ shredded straw, lime, calcium carbonate, gypsum, peat moss, and cow manure.
(Exact ratios are proprietary and the result of extensive R&D.)
One 10-pound bag of this premium substrate can fill up to 10 shoebox-sized containers. At approximately $6 per tub, we believe the cost is more than justified given the time, research, and precision that went into developing this formulation—saving cultivators both time and the potential frustration of failed or weak flushes.
Important Note: For optimal performance, especially with Panaeolus species, a specially formulated casing layer is required. This should be applied approximately 48 hours after full colonization of your container. The casing helps maintain surface moisture and provides the right microclimate for strong pinsets and healthy flushes. If you're looking for a more affordable option, CVG (Coco, Vermiculite, Gypsum) substrate can be used as a functional casing layer alternative.
Our premium casing layer for all active mushrooms can be found at the following link:
Although this substrate works with Ps. cubensis, the production cost is higher compared to standard CVG mixes. However, for growers seeking to replicate the natural conditions these species thrive in—typically the dung of large grass- and straw-fed mammals—this blend offers a far more biologically appropriate and rewarding grow experience.
