After throwing money into this bottomless pit of research and development which still continues to surpass the 20k we spent within the first 18 months of starting this project in mid 2023. We believed that we had dialed in the extraction process to allow for the highest concentration of bio-available compounds possible. Every bit of chitin gets dissolved at a certain frequency using our industrial grade ultrasonic probe, regularly adjugated over the course of at least 6 months as it is allowed to steep in the solvent. Next is the fun part, all that pulp has to be filtered out several times by using various vacuum pumps in addition to specific types of borosilicate. That final process is actually the most time consuming to do the correct way as it is extremely difficult to filter out every nanoparticle of bio-matter. Everything then gets evaporated down on Pyrex dishes then carefully scraped and collected as a gold shatter consistency. That resin should be the same consistency of pull snap cannabis BHO extract like back in the day. Finally, it all gets loaded onto trays then properly purged in the freeze drier for up to 36 hrs. What you’re left with is a clean honeycomb resin that can then be melted down and homogenized into an oil or even mixed back into something like chocolate or gummies. Keep in Mind that there are an endless number of variables to take into consideration. Lab testing is the only way to truly know what concentration of what molecules are being accumulated. Some of which are untestable as there is no apparatus to even look for these unknown molecules, let alone know their purpose or effects.
Similarly to hash rosin production, you don’t ask how many grams of starting material it takes to produce X amount of resin. Everything is priced accordingly as we see fit. Obviously, as time goes on and we continue to improve the efficiency of the process, we’ll be able to do better rates especially on wholesale orders. Right now, everything is sold by the gram or used in our derived products.
